Wilderness First Aid
First aid is one of the most important skills in the Adventure Tourism Industry. This course will prepares students to deal with emergency situations that may arise in the field. Students will learn how to assess and manage injuries caused by force as well as non-traumatic illnesses, common medical conditions, and small wounds. They will also learn current legal considerations for care, be taught how to use various portable medical supplies to provide emergency care and how to evaluate when to evacuate a client, with special emphasis on long-term patient care. This course leads to an 90 hour Advanced Wilderness First Aid certification.
