Course Description:

In this course, student will learn the fundamentals of running a group camp, such as camp set-up, setting up group tarps and site selection. Special focus will be on preparing food for large groups, taking dietary restrictions and preferences into account, whilst doing so in a food safe manner. Several overnight camps will give the students hands on experience with the running of a camp setting. This course gives students a solid foundation to the running of high end camps.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Produce nutritional meals
  • Be able to prepare meals in a wilderness setting
  • Show good judgement selecting sites for group shelters
