Raised in Southern Ontario, Mike grew up hiking and canoeing in the Muskoka region, spending summers cutting his teeth in Algonquin Park on multi-day out trips. Arriving on Vancouver Island 13 years ago, he quickly fell in love with the expansive wilderness environment of the Pacific Northwest. After a stint in the Army, Mike chose to pursue a life in the great outdoors. Graduating from Westcoast Adventure College, he would go on to guide sea kayak expeditions on Northern Vancouver Island, in the Johnstone Strait and Queen Charlotte Sound areas. That’s where you can find him in the summer; in between guiding and traveling in the pursuit of adventure, he is proud to be the administrative coordinator and an instructor here at Westcoast Adventure College.
