The students at Westcoast Adventure College had a pretty awesome day today!
They started out at Ogden Point Dive Center to sit down with Industry Specialist Derek Sterling. Derek, who is an alumni of Westcoast Adventure College, talked to the students about the amazing wildlife in and around the Victoria area. The students got to learn all about whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, otters, birds, etc. Derek, who works for Eagle Wing Tours, has such in-depth knowledge and passion about the subjects he talks about! It is so great to hear his stories from over the years!
After the students left the Diving Center, they made their way over to Prince Of Whales to talk with Ben Duthie, the Sales and Operations Manager, and Mark Malleson, the lead skipper! Ben and Mark talked to the students about current employment opportunities at Prince of Whales, and what they are looking for in potential candidates. Can’t wait to see which alumni will be working at Prince Of Whales this summer!
Once the students had all of their questions answered by Ben and Mark, they made their way to the Royal British Columbia Museum to check out the latest exhibit and an IMAX show.
Phew! What a day! Check back in on our blog to see what our students will get up to in the next few weeks!
