Westcoast Adventure College has worked with health care and industry professionals to establish new policies in light of COVID-19 to ensure that the course is able to run as safely as possible.

New COVID-19 Policies

Due to our small class sizes and large outdoor component we are planning on continuing to offer face to face classes.  We feel that the benefits of experiential learning is paramount to the success of our graduates and is difficult to be recreated remotely.

However, we have implemented the following changes to our program operations in order to reduce the risk of exposure and spread of COVID 19:

  • Required health check each day before staff and students attend class
  • Zero tolerance policy for staff or students displaying COVID-19 symptoms, should staff members show symptoms, classes will be moved or conducted remotely if possible. If students are ill, class notes will be sent to the student and technical skills will be reviewed at a later date if possible.
  • International students will be asked to self isolate for 14 days prior to the start of the course.
  • Students will be asked to social distance as much as possible.
  • Until the COVID crisis is over, students will be responsible for their own meals on camping trips to reduce the risk of illness.

As new information and guidelines become available, our policies will be evaluated and subject to change as the program progresses.
